Apple Mac Repairs Brisbane
Apple hardware is well made and well supported, and it still fails in a small number of predictable ways. All of them are fixable, and nearly all of them are fixable at your home rather than in a service centre.
I work on Intel and Apple silicon, across MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini.

What I repair
- Liquid damage, from coffee, wine or a bottle in the bag
- Screens - cracked panels, black screens, dead backlights, lines across the display
- Batteries - swollen, dead, or not charging
- Keyboards with dead keys, trackpads that do not click
- Machines that will not power on
- Fans and thermal throttling, especially in older Air models
- Slow performance after a macOS update
- Failing SSDs and storage full errors
- Charging ports worn out from cable strain
- Logic board faults - dead charging circuits, blown fuses, failed power rails
Apple parts and third-party parts
Where a genuine part is available and reasonably priced, I fit it. Where it is not - and for some older models it genuinely is not - I will explain what the alternative is and what the trade-off looks like, and let you decide.
I do not quietly fit a part and hope it holds, and I do not fit anything without telling you first.
What I will not do
I will not bypass Activation Lock or iCloud locks, and I will not touch a FileVault-encrypted disk I cannot unlock. Those are theft protections doing their job.
How a visit works
- 1
You call and describe it
No booking form and no call centre. I will tell you honestly whether it sounds like something I can fix, and roughly what it will cost.
- 2
I come to you
Early morning, evening, weekend or public holiday - all normal, none surcharged. Home or office. You can watch the work.
- 3
You are told before anything happens
The price is agreed before the job starts, and if a part is needed you get the cost price rather than a mark-up.
- 4
It works, or you do not pay
If I cannot fix it, there is no charge. If something I did stops working, I come back and look at it.
Apple Repairs - common questions
Do you service the iMac?
Yes. iMacs develop a few predictable problems - failed backlights, a PSU that gives up, screens - and most are repairable. I come to you for iMacs rather than have you move one.
Is a liquid-damaged Mac beyond saving?
Not necessarily, and the sooner you switch it off the better, because corrosion keeps working while the machine is powered. Bring it in and I will assess it. If it is not worth doing I will tell you straight away.
Can you upgrade a Mac?
RAM and storage on the models that allow it. Most recent Macs have soldered storage and cannot be upgraded at all. I will tell you which category yours is in before you spend anything.
You might also need
Most jobs are a combination of these. If you are not sure which one you need, describe the problem on the phone and I will tell you.
