Questions about the services
What people ask before booking, including the money ones.
Is the $150 first hour the same for every job?
Yes. The rate covers diagnosis, labour and travel, whatever the job. If it takes twenty minutes you pay for twenty minutes in 15-minute blocks. The only things charged on top are parts, and those are at cost.
Do you repair both PCs and Macs?
Yes. Desktops, laptops and Apple Macs, on Windows or macOS, from machines made last year to machines made fifteen years ago. If a part is genuinely unobtainable or uneconomic I will tell you before spending your money.
Can you fix a problem I cannot describe?
That is most of the work. Describe what you see - the message, the noise, when it started - and the diagnosis is part of the job.
Do you come to my suburb?
All Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and the surrounding suburbs, with travel included in the rate. Call with your suburb and I will confirm straight away.
What if I need a part replaced?
You are told the part and the price before anything is ordered, and the part is charged at cost. If a cheaper equivalent exists I will mention it, but I will not fit something that is going to fail again in six months to save twenty dollars.
Computer trouble? Call Robert.
Describe the problem on the phone. You will get an honest answer about whether it is worth fixing, and what it will cost, before anyone is booked.
