Tell me what is wrong and you will get a straight answer on cost and timing - usually on the same phone call, before anything is booked.
For a flat $150 first hour, calling is genuinely faster than filling in a form, so the phone button leads. The form is here if you would rather write it down.

What happens after you get in touch
-
Tell me what is wrong
A sentence is enough. "My laptop will not turn on", "the computer is really slow", "I get pop-ups on every page". If you are not sure what the fault is, say that instead - working it out is the first hour of the job and it is included in the rate.
-
Get a straight answer on price
You will be told what the job is likely to cost before anything is booked. It is a flat $150 for the first hour, so in most cases the answer is "one hour, $150", and I will tell you that on the phone rather than after.
-
Book a time that suits you
Evenings, weekends and public holidays are all available at the same rate. Most bookings are same-day or next-day, and if I cannot make a time I will say so rather than leave you waiting on a maybe.
-
Get it fixed, or do not pay
If the fault turns out to be beyond repair, or beyond what is worth spending money on, you do not pay for the diagnosis. That is the whole point of quoting before starting rather than billing after the fact.
No surprises in the price
- Flat $150 for the first hour, then 15-minute blocks at the same rate
- No call-out fee anywhere in the service area
- No weekend or public holiday surcharge
- Parts at cost, and you are told the part and the price before anything is ordered
- No obligation - a quote is a quote, not a booking you are locked into
- GST note: if the work is for a business, GST is excluded from the rate
Before you get in touch
Do I have to book to get a price?
No. Describe the fault and you will be given an indication of the cost and the time on the spot, before anything is committed. If the price does not suit you, that is completely fine.
Is a quote free?
Yes. There is no charge for telling you what the job is likely to be and what it will cost. You only pay once work has actually been done.
What if I am not sure what the problem is?
That is normal and it is what the first hour is for. Diagnosing the fault is included in the rate, not billed on top, so there is no risk in asking. The worst case is that it cannot be fixed and you do not pay.
Do you need me to be home?
Yes, for an onsite visit someone needs to let me in and be there to approve anything that costs extra - a part, most obviously. For workshop work I will take the machine and keep you posted.
Can you help with business computers?
Yes. GST is excluded from the rate for commercial work, and repeat work is faster because I already know your setup. Mention it on the phone and I will price it accordingly.
